WCSU-FM strives to entertain it listeners with the sounds of urban and contemporary jazz. WCSU was located above the university bookstore, but later relocated to another building after the Xenia tornado of 1974. It was with the support of Dr. William H. Cosby that in the fall of 1992, WCSU moved to its current location, The Camille O. and William H. Cosby Center for Mass Communication.
Dubbed the name Jazzy 88.9 for its streaming of jazz music across the Miami Valley, WCSU-FM informs the community of local jazz events and offers live programing throughout the week and weekends.
