Weave: A Conceptual Dance Company

http://www.weavedancecompany.com">WEAVE Dance Company was conceived by Bernadette and Travis Upton in the summer of 2013 in Chattanooga, TN. Founded as a conceptual dance company, Weave strives to push the boundaries of dance and movement by offering a two fold approach of instruction and concept based performance. Although Weave does not necessarily have a focus it does have foundational roots in multiple styles of hip hop as well as Bernadette’s signature style of contemporary funk that encompasses ballet, hip hop, jazz and lyrical.


Weave is a non-competitive open dance community that welcomes all styles, levels and discipline. This means plainly that we welcome all dancers, even if they are apart of another company or program. We make every effort to work with those dancers in other programs so there will be as little conflict as possible. We believe that in the experience of the artist, saturation of the arts carries overall gain, so whether you are a competition dancer, a b-boy, or a ballerina you can gain from the woven experience of WEAVE: A Conceptual Dance Company.
