Wee Care Center

Wee Care Center serves Wooster and surrounding communities by providing high quality early childhood education and child care to children from age 2 ½ through third grade as well as a mentoring program for grades 4-6. Wee Care was founded in 1964 as a mission of Wooster's First Presbyterian Church and operates as a nonprofit United Way Agency. The Center is fully licensed by the State of Ohio, and is operational five days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. year-round, except for select holidays.

Wee Care is one of only two nonprofit child care centers in Wooster to employ a sliding fee tuition scale, in which tuition is based upon parents’ gross annual income. Our program enables families, including single mothers, who would otherwise be unable to afford quality preschool and child care in an educational setting, to have the same educational and nurturing environment for their children as other working parents in the community. Children attending Wee Care and benefiting from the sliding scale are better prepared to enter kindergarten, both socially and academically. Wee Care, in turn, is enriched by the diverse population of those attending our Center.
