Come and visit “Welika Lake” an Anson County tradition through the decades. A tradition that started out as a simple swimming hole for those in the Lilesville Community in the 1920’s, to later becoming a dance hall and finally ‘Welika Lake Fish House” in 1965. All of these various stages can still be seen with any visit to Welika. The water remains so many can see the plentiful fish stock and of course our famous turtles! While after Hurricane Hugo the original building had to be demolished, the new building still has the best wood floors in the area for dancing if the occasion permits.
