WellSpan York Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program

The WellSpan York Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program is a three-year program utilizing a PGY-1, 2, 3 format, leading to eligibility for certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). Our program is fully accredited by the ACGME-RRC.

We strive to continually improve and we are well-positioned to meet the clinical and administrative challenges of residency training in Emergency Medicine both now and into the future.

The residency program and ultrasound fellowship are based at WellSpan York Hospital, a large community teaching hospital with a fully accredited Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, and one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Pennsylvania (nearly 85,000 annual ED visits). The residency program provides additional patient care experiences at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Chambersburg Hospital, and the Pinnacle Health Toxicology Center at Harrisburg Hospital. These diverse centers provide an outstanding breadth of training experiences.
