West Carlisle Fire/EMS

West Carlisle Fire/EMS is a volunteer fire department and paid EMS agency. We serve approximately 35 square miles in west Lubbock county. There are approximately 25 active volunteer firefighters on the department, and 3 jr. firefighters. The jr. firefighter program is for kids 16-17 years old that want to know how the fire service works and learn more about the fire service, the jr. firefighters respond to calls during certain times set by the Chief, Assistant Chief, and Captians, jr. firefighters will work with the volunteers in training and on scenes. Once the jr. firefighter turns 18 he/she can be voted on the department as a probationary firefighter. We have 11 fire apparatus including 2 engines, 3 tankers, 2 brush trucks, 1 rescue truck, 1 Emergency Medical Task Force truck, 2 command vehicles. We also have the regional Rehab trailer that responds to all types of incidents in the region when requested. The EMS is a paid service that is 24/7. EMS has 2 apparatus, the A-Unit which is the primary unit on all emergency medical calls in west Lubbock county and west Lubbock. The second EMS apparatus is the B-Unit, it responds to emergency medical calls when the A-Unit is on another call, the B-Unit is also capable of transfers, it can also respond with the fire department on local incidents where rehab maybe needed.
