West Frankfort Fire Department

The West Frankfort Fire Department is a combination department located in West Frankfort, Illinois. We provide fire protection, rescue/extrication, and emergency medical care and transport for 72 square miles of Franklin County, Illinois. Our coverage area includes the City of West Frankfort, Orient, and portions of Freeman Spur, as well as the unincorporated areas of Frankfort and Denning Townships and 6 miles of Interstate 57. There are approximately 14000 residents in our coverage area.

Our department is comprised of a full time Fire Chief, ten (10) full time Firefighter/Paramedics, about fourteen (14) paid on call Firefighters. and one (1) Cadet Firefighter. Several of our paid on call staff hold licenses as First Responders or EMT-Basics as well.

Our fleet consists of three ALS ambulances, two fire engines, one aerial truck, one squad, one brush engine, one ATV, one UTV, one command vehicle and one support vehicle.
