Research, photos, etc. on the families from the Jackson Purchase area of Kentucky and some surrounding areas.

I Don Howell go to Auctions, Flea Markets, search on eBay for hours each night and hunt out collectors willing to sell. All on my free time from work of which I work Mon-Fri. I buy these items with no funding from anyone but my own pay check. After I purchase these items I sort them and scan them into the computer. I then seal the items in air tight bags or wrapped in plastic then stored in a filing cabinet.
Then I get online and post them here and everywhere else I can find in hopes of getting them home or at least back to people in the given area such as Libraries or Museums. All I have ever asked is the cost of the item. If I paid 2.00 I want 2.00, if I paid 200.00 I ask 200.00.
I’ve never figured in my time or gas into this because I’m trying to help everyone in getting their family home. So yes I “Sell” these items but only to family and intuitions that will appreciate the historical value and not the economic value on eBay. In some cases items are given to me free in hopes I can find family since they have no one left to leave them too. So I go pick them up and then I do my best to locate family then as instructed I give them away.
As for “selling” I’m picky to who I sell to because I have found collections I “sent home” back on eBay.
If you do not want the originals, or if we no longer have the originals, a CD can be sold as an alternative. Not all of our collections are posted online, some are large and therefore sold on CD's only.
WKG scans all photographs and keeps a database - WKG retains the right to use those photos.
WKG will NOT sell YOUR photos that YOU post onto our Facebook. Those photos are yours and remain yours.
We will NOT sell originals to a collector! Originals will go to family only. That's the whole purpose of WKG obtaining these photos.
PLEASE note: Not everything here is for sale - there are many items here that are posted with permission of the owners/families for the purpose of digital preservation. Also keep in mind that we have our own family items that we have posted here for that purpose as well - they are not for sale.
