The West Stanislaus Irrigation District operates and maintains an Intake Canal at its alignment pursuant to a 1928 easement. This generally involves among other things:
1. Routine inspection
2. Weed control including grading, discing, and application of pre and post emergent herbicide
3. Erosion control and repair
4. Maintain water level instruments
5. Installation, removal and maintenance of log booms
6. Sediment removal
7. Tree trimming/removal
The District performs maintenance activities by accessing and traveling on the north and south side of the Intake Canal. These types of activities will continue to take place as long as the Intake Canal is the primary source of water supply to the District.
