Current Programs

Kid's Club After School Program
Time: Monday - Friday during the school year, 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Free after-school program for students ages 8-14. Incorporates homework help, academic tutoring and a healthy snack with enrichment activities such as radio production, nature hikes, computer animation, arts activities and more.

SCSD After School Program
Location: Edward Smith School, Lancaster Ave. & Broad Street, Syracuse, NY 13210
Time: Monday - Thursday during the school year, 3 pm – 5 pm
Free after-school program for grades K-3. Combines homework help, academic tutoring and a healthy snack with various enrichment activities.

Golden Cafe and Senior Lunch Program
Time: Monday – Friday, 11:00 am - 1:30 pm, lunch served at noon
Seniors 60+ are welcome to enjoy free coffee (and tea), read the paper, play cards and make new friends. A nutritious lunch is served at 12 noon. $2.75 donation suggested for each senior lunch, but no one is turned away if they cannot pay. You will find a monthly calendar menu online at http://www.peace-caa.org.

Neighborhood Senior Advisor Program
Provides persons 60+ years old with free advice and assistance about a wide range of issues such as Food Stamps, Medicare and Medicaid, Social Security, HEAP, home repairs and modifications, transportation and more. Contact Kathleen Boccio at 315-478-8634 x 3.

High School Equivalency Program
Time: Classes, by appointment, are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 – 9:00 pm
This program provides evaluations, testing and preparation for those seeking to earn their GED. Contact Brett Mosier, 315-289-9057.

Rentals
Many spaces are available for rent including a large, carpeted multi-purpose room on the 1st floor; commercial kitchen; a large open wooden-floored room on the 2nd floor ideal for dance, exercise, etc., and a small conference room. Check our website for more information.

Westcott Community Art Gallery
Time: Open to the public Monday – Friday from 9 am – 5 pm and weekends by appointment,

Second Saturday Concert Series
Time: 2nd Saturday of the month, October - May, concerts begin 8:00 pm
Performances by local, regional and national artists, usually acoustic with a folk or world music orientation. Ticket prices vary per concert.

Eastside Neighbors Lecture Series
Time: One Sunday per month (September through April) at 3 pm
Engaging lectures by community activists, experts, visionaries and artists followed by an open dialogue and refreshments. Fundraiser for WCC. $10 at the door. Go to www.westcottcc.org.

Westcott Recreation Club Dance
Time: 1st Saturday of the month: Oct, Nov, Dec, Feb, Mar, Apr., begins at 7 pm. A dance primarily for persons with disabilities where live music is played. Snacks available. Donation $5.

Syracuse Eastside Neighborhood Farmers’ Market
Time: Every Wednesday from June – October, 2 – 6 pm
Fresh, in-season fruits, vegetables, flowers and jams from local farmers, as well as baked goods and more. Accepts WIC and Senior FMNP coupons.

Monthly Sessions With the National Grid Consumer Advocate
Time: First Tuesday of every month from 11 am. – 2 pm
Meet one-on-one with National Grid Consumer Advocate Mary Beth Basha regarding account or service concerns. Free and open to everyone. As this is a walk-in service appointment are unavailable.

Talk To A Lawyer Program
Time: Every Thursday from 6 – 8 pm, first come first served – as this is a walk-in service appointments are unavailable.
A volunteer lawyer will help distinguish a legal from a non-legal issue, offer limited advice, and match anyone who needs full legal representation with available community resources. Anonymous, free and open to the public.

Open Computer Lab
Time: Monday – Friday 10 am – 3 pm except during class times.
WCC has an 8-station computer lab with high-speed Internet access. Free and open to the public.
