Frew Development Group, LLC (“FDG”) is the developer of Westdale Mall, formerly a 900,000sf regional shopping center on 72+ acres in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Westdale opened in 1979 but by 2012 the property suffered from deferred maintenance, deteriorating facility and site infrastructure, high tenant vacancy and frequent owner turnover.

Since taking control of the property in 2013, FDG has demolished nearly 600,000sf of buildings, created three stand-alone structures (two are leased to long-time tenants JCPenney and Younkers), replaced infrastructure, paved a 5,800sf ring road and interior drive aisles, and created 32 development pads. New buildings house Chick-fil-A, US Bank, Noodles & Company, Chipotle, Wingstop and AT&T Wireless. A new 40,400sf Burlington Stores will open in Q4 of 2016.
