19 years ago, a little girl inspired her mom so much, that motivated her to want to spend all her waking hours doting on her…but how to do it, the corporate environment then did not foster bring your kids to work…every day! Wham’s Cafe was born…”Wham’s” a play on the little girl’s name Wambui (which means Singer or “of song” in Kikuyu) became a sensation within the Kenyan, infact was known to the African-Canadian community and Torontonian’s in the GTA. A place of work and love that would allow for full time mommy, Chef “girl-ar-dee” and was kid friendly…

Many an ugali, sukuma wiki, kitoweo, mukimo, samosa..na kadhalika (and please order the latter only on Sundays) were prepared and consumed slurpingly in this cove located at 1454 Danforth Ave, Toronto Ontario CANADA

Fast forward…April 2014, the inspiration still the same, that little girl? not so little anymore..and is taking on the reins, and can now actually mean it when she says “Welcome to Wham’s Cafe, how may I serve you”…yes, here on Lakeview Ave in Lowell, MA…may the slurping resume…
