Wharton Fire Department

The Wharton Fire Department is an all volunteer department and has been proudly serving Wharton Borough since 1904. The department has two engines, a 95 foot ladder truck, and a heavy rescue truck. The department responds to fire alarms, motor vehicle accidents, CO alarms, car fires and structure fires. The Wharton Fire Department also holds many exciting events for the community including the Halloween Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, Santa Tour, Weekly Bingo, and Fire Prevention. The Wharton Fire Department is looking for members. Anyone who is 18 or older and is looking to take on the rewarding role of a firefighter can stop by the firehouse for an application. The department also has a thriving junior fire department which is for any individual 15 to 18 years of age. A junior can respond to calls, participate in drills, and work on the exterior of the fire ground.
