More about Wholesome Valley Farm

Our mission at Wholesome Valley Farm in Wilmot, Ohio, is to provide a marketing and education center for healthy local foods that are grown naturally without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics or growth hormones. Our retail store, housed in a restored 19th century barn, showcases locally produced foods and products from a variety of vendors in the greater Holmes County community. The store also features a wide variety of seasonal vegetables and pastured animal products produced right here on the farm.
The farm is open to the public for tours and educational events. We welcome you to visit or contact us for more information.
Wholesome Valley Farm is a collaborative effort of families in the greater Holmes County community committed to providing healthy, natural foods to Northeast Ohio. The 120 acre farm is a working model using methods for raising produce and animals naturally without the use of chemical sprays, antibiotics and growth hormones. Customers who visit the farm and store are able to see some of their food being produced first hand and learn about the many health benefits from eating natural, nutrient dense foods. We also strive to educate local farmers on ways to produce these foods naturally on their own farms. Our goal is that our entire community will experience the health, environmental and economic benefits of sustainable farming.
Aden Keim is the general manager of the farm and store. Aden and his family have been growing vegetables for 12 years on their family farm near Wilmot and in the spring of 2011 moved their operations to Wholesome Valley Farm. Aden along with his wife and 5 daughters plant and harvest crops, care for the animals as well as staff the store.
Milo Miller is the owner of Wholesome Valley Farm. Milo and his family have been in the restaurant and hospitality business since the late 70s. Milo had previously used the restored barn for an antique mall and was renting the fields to a conventional crop farmer. Milo and his wife Catherine have experienced many health benefits from eating natural healthy foods and had a strong interest in seeing their farm be a benefit to the community and beyond.
How We Started: In the winter of 2011, Milo Miller approached Aden Keim about moving his vegetable operation to the acreage that is now called Wholesome Valley Farm. Milo was also interested in seeing the restored barn which had sat empty for six years used as a retail outlet for natural foods. Joel and Christina Kurtz joined the team bringing along marketing and visionary skills. Together the group developed a plan to provide a retail store and educational center that showcases the many healthy foods produced in our area. Another need in the area was to provide an outlet for local farmers to market their products so the store includes natural products from area farms as well as things produced on-site. Wholesome Valley Farm is striving to be a direct connection between consumer and farmer which both eases the marketing challenges for farmers and provides a convenient shopping experience for customers.
