Wilbur

With the release of the EP "This Is Wilbur", Wilbur brings a new feel to a classic genre. Lush with guitar sections, addicting vocal melodies, and a heavy 60’s rock influence, the record boasts the aesthetic of classic rock anthems. Although the songs are stylistically diverse, they are glued together much like a concept album would be. Most importantly, the EP never loses sight of the emotional platform great songs are built on.

The first single, “An Hour of Sunshine”, is an instant pop rock classic. Complete with a catchy chorus, and a descriptive lyrical approach, the song seems to breathe and build as it plays on.

“Passage of time, remembering a brief, but great moment, wondering if it could ever happen again, longing for it to happen again, knowing the consequences of such longing,” explains songwriter, John Lindell, of the band’s single. “It’s the song that best expresses what I had going on inside of me at the time. It also sounds like radio music to me - simple, straight forward, hooks and harmonies.”

Although the single does speak volumes for the feeling of this recording, the EP should be heard in its entirety to get a real understanding for where Wilbur is coming from.

Of the EP and the band’s songwriting approach, Lindell says, “Recording songs for this EP helped define the range of musical and technical possibilities as a self-produced artist. The EP itself helped evolve Wilbur into a songwriting team, whereby some of the songs could be re-interpreted and re-arranged towards unexpected sonic territory.“

Comprised of two core members, John Lindell and Jeff Jenson, Wilbur began writing songs together years ago and hasn’t looked back since. Like one musical soul, they affect the fundamentally profound experience of creating music.

This Is Wilbur is now available for streaming and downloads on most major digital outlets, while Wilbur continues writing new material for upcoming releases.
