The co-op has a fresh bakery which offers breads, breakfast pastries and desserts daily. Special occasion cakes and other baked goods can be made to order. Business and event catering is available. There is an in-store café, hot bar, soup and salad bar, with vegan and vegetarian options daily. Hot breakfast sandwiches are served until 10:30 am daily. The store offers local and organic produce year-round. It carries antibiotic-free, hormone-free meat and sustainable seafood; local artisanal cheeses; specialty foods; and numerous grocery items for healthy lifestyles and special dietary needs. It also sells craft beer and wine.

As an environmentally responsible business, Wild Oats Market provides composting and recycling options for customers in its café and composts food scraps and waste. In keeping with its commitment to healthy and delicious food, it offers prepared foods made with clean ingredients and lists the ingredients in its prepared foods fully and clearly. During the growing season, almost all of its produce is locally grown by certified organic farms. It donates food and food coupons to local organizations and contributes to community fundraisers on a regular basis.

As a cooperative, Wild Oats Market does not have investors to which it must answer. Rather, it has member-owners, i.e., members of the community who have joined the co-op and care about what products the co-op offers and what values the co-op stands for. Unlike traditional businesses, Wild Oats' customers and its owners are often the same people.
