Chartered on October 4, 1967, the department is composed of over 30 members who serve the area citizens of Willow City, as well as Crabapple, Eckert, Rheingold, and many other surrounding communities, including working mutual aid calls on fires with Llano and Blanco County VFDs across the Gillespie County line.
The Willow City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department regularly meets on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. at the station. Effective November 2015, the first Wednesday of the month the general membership business meetings will be held instead of the first Thursday. Training programs, recertifications, drills, etc. are offered on Thursdays.
