Special Operations / Winter Survival Training (Colorado)

Winter Survival Training is a Special Operations practical skills training course that combines winter survival skills with cold weather military tactics. This course teaches survival skills such as field-expedient shelters and locations, water procurement and purification, cold weather injuries and hypothermia, fire-making techniques, military/tactical cold weather strategies.

This course involves a one-day classroom style training (6 hrs) with the following topics:
• Basic Survival Fires
• Basic Survival Shelters
• Basic Survival Medicine (including cold weather injuries).
• Basic Winter Military Tactics

Beyond the classroom, students will be taken to the primary training site. This location is remote and isolated. Students will be tasked with putting the skills learned in the classroom to use.
