Winter's Camp

Winter’s Camp is a charming and cozy cabin tucked into the pines in the center of Twain Harte, with modern touches and access to Twain Harte Lake. It’s the perfect escape for families looking for a relaxing stay in a quaint Sierra town that time forgot (in a good way).

The cabin has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and can comfortably sleep eight. There is a master bedroom on the far end with a queen-size bed and ensuite bathroom. A second bedroom features a full-size bed plus twin bunk beds – perfect for the family. The spacious living room has a vaulted ceiling and a working fireplace. There is ample space to huddle around a vintage board game, relax with a book or enjoy movie night with family and friends.

Winter’s Camp has been in our family for decades. It was recently handed down a generation and given a modern refresh. All the bed and bath linens are fresh, comfortable and actually match! There is speedy wireless internet access – with a strong signal throughout the house and front deck. The living room has a 42” Sony TV in case you’ve reached pine tree and sunshine overload. The connected Roku box will let you queue up a movie from your Netflix, Amazon or Hulu account. Note: there is no standard cable TV service.

The kitchen is well-stocked with the cookware and tools you need to pull together a family feast (sharp knives, solid cookware and a cocktail shaker in case of emergency). There is fresh, new table service for eight. Enjoy meals inside when the air is cool or take advantage of the huge deck out front for dining al fresco.

Speaking of that deck: you’ll spend more time here than any other place during your stay. Perfect for relaxing, having a drink and coming up with grand plans that you’ll never get around to because you’re so content right where you are. Seriously, it’s a great deck.

Your rental comes with lake privileges, granting you access to Twain Harte Lake for your entire group. Relax on the sandy shore, take a swim in the cool water on a hot day or make your way across the lake the “The Rock” where the big kids hang out and dare each other to throw backflips off the diving board. Don’t forget to hit the Snack Shack for soft serve ice cream.
