Our Beliefs

The Bible:
The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Romans 15:4).
God:
In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (John 1:1-3; Ephesians 4:4-6; Hebrews 1:8; Acts 5:3-4 Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus:
That Jesus is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Advocate (Hebrews 1:1-4; Luke 1:26-38; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2).
Holy Spirit:
That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service (John 16:7-11; Romans 8:9-16).
Baptism:
That water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation (Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32; Matthew 28:18-20).
Leadership:
That Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every local church has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs (Ephesians 5:23; Acts 6:1-6).
Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA)
WCC is affiliated with the EFCA. The EFCA is an association of some 1,100 autonomous churches united by a mutual commitment to serve our Lord Jesus Christ with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and obedience to the Word of God.
"Evangelical" & "Free"
The term "Evangelical" refers to our commitment to the proclamation of the gospel and to the authority of the Scriptures as being inerrant in the original autographs and the only safe and sufficient guide to faith and practice.
The term "Free" refers to our form of church government which assures that our local churches are free from a central controlling body. Evangelical Free Churches depend upon the active participation of pastors and lay people in the decisions and direction of the local church.
