Wire & Vice

The studio at The License Lab is built inside a 1920s-era post office near Milwaukee's own Harley Davidson and the original Miller brewery. Wire & Vice is the successor to the building's original studio identity known as Burst HQ.

Featuring a tracking room (24' x 17' x 14' with great acoustics for everything from rock drums to jazz combos), two production/mix suites (current full-time residencies by Daniel Holter and Nick Rad), and two writing rooms... we also have an extensive array of instruments and equipment available, including the legendary Steinway B grand piano.
