Women Business Leaders

WBL was formed in 2014 by YBL (Young Business Leaders) a faith based group of men in the Birmingham marketplace who have been impacting the business world for Christ since 1981. Several years ago, the men began to pray about forming a group to reach women in the marketplace.
In 2013 God began to move, and in 2014 a steering committee was formed. A series of outreach brunches were hosted to discern the level of interest and desire for a ministry like WBL among the women in the Birmingham workplaces. Within a few months a large network of women expressed an interest in WBL becoming a reality. At that point a search for a director for the ministry ensued. In March 2015, Tommye Lambert began to serving as the first director for WBL.

Our calling comes from God’s Word: “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come…Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31: 25, 31:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; Galatians 5:22-23a;
