Our Programs and Services:

To align with our mission of helping women and their families build lives of strength, growth and self-sufficiency, together with our volunteers, we serve more than 20,000 community residents each year through our agency-based programs, crisis hotline, workshops, as well as school- and university-based outreach services.

Women from all walks of life can utilize our newly expanded Careers program. Whether returning to work after an extended absence, preparing for a career change or embarking on a job search, clients will benefit from our team of employment experts that assist with individualized coaching, job search strategies, interviewing techniques and dressing for success assistance through our Career Clothing Closet.

The Bridges to Opportunity program provides a holistic approach to addressing the underlying barriers that keep families in poverty and prevent them from achieving economic self-sufficiency. Through a collaborative effort with various community agencies, our clients address needs such as housing, transportation, health and education, along with receiving individualized coaching to decrease dependence on social services, increase personal support systems, and attain the basic and life skills needed for stable employment.

For clients who come to us in times of crisis due to experiencing violence, assault or stalking, WCA offers a wide variety of Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault services such as emergency funding, help in securing protection orders and safe shelter, short-term crisis counseling, legal services, as well as financial fundamentals workshops and employment and financial coaching. We also work on UNO and Creighton campuses and at schools from kindergarten to high school to offer school-based prevention and educational programs. Advocates are available 24/7 to respond to law enforcement and Emergency Room calls for victims of domestic violence/sexual assault or to provide support or resources. Hotline Number: 402-345-7273

We continue to build a strong network of partner agencies that complement and enhance our services, which in turn allows our clients to have the tools they need to move farther and faster in reaching their goals.
