Wonderland Farm specializes in breeding and raising Registered Heritage Berkshire pigs along with its Equestrian boarding and training facility. Located 12 miles west of Wilmington, situated on 106 acres that borders the beautiful wooded Battle Royal Creek.
We sell farm to table pork, packaged by the cut and weight, such as pork chops, ribs, sausage, tenderloins, etc. Our pigs are raised in a natural state and are happy every day. They live in large wooded areas where they can run and play while foraging grass roots and acorns.
Naturally lean and healthy, Berkshire pork has an amazingly sweet, smooth flavor, with a delicate texture that regular hogs just can’t match. Unlike that bland pale pork you find in the supermarket aisle, Berkshire pork has a bold deep rose color, and a distinctive maze of marbling that is a gorgeous sight to see.
These animals are raised humanely, never given any antibiotics or hormones or animal by- products. We know this because we personally grind the corn and mix soybean, vitamins and minerals in their feed. Berkshire pigs are what are called a heritage breed, animals descended from pig herds of the British House of Windsor. Often called the “Kobe beef of pork”, black- coated Berkshires have privileged genetics, which have been carefully preserved and passed along each generation through DNA and pedigree controls. All of our pigs are registered with the American Berkshire Association, which goes back to over 140 years of traceable genealogy. Belonging to the past, our Berkshire meat has authentic flavor and texture of what original genuine farm raised pork should taste like.
