Woodfin Fire Department

The Woodfin Fire Department is a combination department mixed with 16 paid staff and 11 volunteers under the leadership of our Fire Chief, Jeff Angel. We are a non-profit organization that resides inside the Town Of Woodfin. We are contracted by the Town Of Woodfin and Buncombe County Government for fire protection services within our jurisdiction.

We are staffed 24 hours a day with 3 shift Firefighters and our Fire Chief works 8-5 Monday through Friday. We rely on many of our dedicated volunteers to help with emergencies in the district.

We serve the community in a variety of ways such as Firefighting, EMS, Fire Prevention and Education, as well as many routine assistance calls. All of the staff are NC Certified Firefighters and EMT Basic’s. Here is a list of more certifications that our members hold.

In 2016 we ran a total of 1149 calls for service.

Our Apparatus Fleet consist of 4 Engines, 1 Tanker, 1 Brush Truck, and 4 Service vehicles.
