WoodzY is husband and wife team Robert and Suzanne Norman, who strive to leave as little carbon footprint on the planet as possible while creating their functional art.

Robert is an artist who has been designing and building rustic furniture for nearly twenty years; he is an educator and speaker on the subjects of art and furniture design. In November of 2013, he was named Artist of the Year by the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce. His passion for nature is expressed in his artwork, which can be seen on his webpage www.RobertRNorman.com.

Suzanne is a writer, furniture maker, and nature lover who enjoys being part of a team that creates beauty while benefiting the environment. The team collects materials and builds the furniture together, so each piece is not only unique, it's a labor of love.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Sustainable - Reclaiming wood from the waste stream is inherently sustainable; there will always be a supply of materials commonly seen as trash - sticks and branches from brush piles, drift wood, landscaping debris, construction debris, dilapidated buildings, etc. - that would otherwise be burned, chipped, or go into a landfill.

Reclaimed wood is not only sustainable, it also works as a carbon storage unit because the carbon that would have been released through burning or decay is retained in the wood.

Environmentally friendly - We use only natural finishes such as milk paint and linseed oil mixed with pine-derived turpentine.

Furniture - The pieces we create together are perfect for anyone who wants an environmentally conscious alternative for home decor. The style is timeless and can be integrated into a variety of designs, from classic rustic or lodge to modern or industrial. To preserve your furniture, it should be placed indoors or under cover. The natural finishes are not intended for extreme or wet conditions.
