Environmental Impact Reduction Statement
WGES Organizers are committed to minimizing the environmental impact by:
Environmental Impact-World Green EnergyDecreasing the amount of waste produced by the event
Reducing energy and water consumption at the event
Minimizing or offsetting harmful emissions resulting from vehicular transportation and energy consumption associated with the event
Disposing of solid and liquid waste in an environmentally responsible manner and ----Eliminating the use of harmful chemicals at or for the event.
WGES Organizers will give preference to venues, host cities, transportation and suppliers that have active and ongoing sustainability programs and policies.
Specifically, preference is given to transportation suppliers that:
Offer vehicles propelled by electricity or low emissions fuel (methanol, ethanol, propane or natural gas)
Offer fuel efficient vehicles
Recycle used oil, vehicle batteries, antifreeze, and tires
Follow environmentally responsible maintenance practices, including:
The use of re-refined oils
Regular maintenance and emissions testing of vehicles
Minimized idling by drivers
Minimized use of air conditioners (where climate permits) and Environmental initiatives above and beyond those listed herein.
WGES Organizers gives preference to venues that have active and ongoing sustainability programs and policies. Specifically, preference is given to facilities that have:
A comprehensive environmental policy
Programs to recycle and otherwise reduce solid waste
Programs for the conservation of energy and water
Programs to reduce the use of harmful chemicals
Programs to improve indoor air quality and environmental initiatives above and beyond those listed herein
In planning our conferences, WGES Organizers look for a host city that adheres to high environmental standards.

Specifically, preference is given to sites that have:
A comprehensive sustainability plan
Programs to recycle and otherwise reduce solid waste
Programs for the conservation of energy and water
Environmentally responsible systems to handle to treatment of solid and liquid wastes
and

Environmental initiatives above and beyond those listed herein.
Here are just a few ways you can ensure your meeting leaves a positive environmental legacy:
Arrange to have a tree planted for each delegate
Have attendees participate in a local community campaign
Make a donation, on behalf of your meetings client, to a local charity
Arrange an off-site field trip so your attendees can learn about issues facing the community.
