Opportunities
Connections courses introduce students to a variety of skill-building subjects. During their three years at Coile, students have the opportunity to take classes in computer science, technology, consumer science, agriscience, journalism, digital art, photography. Year-long classes are offered in band and chorus. Coile has a strong music program, with three out of four students involved in a musical performing group.

Technology
Coile is equipt with three computer labs, eight wireless laptop carts (for student use), and internet access in every classroom, as well as wireless internet. Also, this year, the addition of a Smart Board in EVERY classroom, ensures that technology plays a key role in Coile's academic program. In addition, every teacher is equipt with a personal laptop for classroom use. This year Coile teachers will be taking advantage of the On-Course lesson plans, which allows for the posting and sharing of the curriculum between teachers and administration to ensure more thorough and efficient planning. Facility
Coile Middle School first opened its doors during the 1994-1995 school year. The school features up-to-date classrooms and labs, including fully equipped technology and media labs. Coile is located on a large campus in a beautiful area of northeastern Athens-Clarke County, near the town of Winterville.

Learning Environment
Coile Middle School follows the Clarke County School Districts core curriculum in Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science. We provide a variety of elective and connections courses. In our school, students are placed on teams in keeping with a strong middle school philosophy. Our teachers meet daily during common planning time to discuss student needs.
