Wyoming Desperados Mounted Shooters

The Wyoming Desperados is a club dedicated to the sport of mounted shooting. We are headed into our 5th season and have members throughout the Big Horn Basin and beyond. Mounted shooting is a very family oriented sport. It is not uncommon to see three generations competing at an event. We encourage traditional values and patriotism. We strive to teach safe handling of firearms, and promote responsibility, sportsmanship, horsemanship and what it means to be part of a team. The benefits earned by our club go back to the contestants in the form of lower entry fees, prizes and paybacks to encourage affordability. We also give back to the community through stages for charity and by hiring local groups (4-H, church youth groups, baseball teams etc.) to help run our events. We also hire local vendors for concessions.
We have hosted several events that have been well attended, including two clinics with 3X World Champion Mounted Shooter Tammy Billingsley and the 2012, ‘13 and ‘14 Wyoming State Mounted Shooting Championships. Participants from 9 states and Canada have traveled to our area for these fun filled family weekends.
Along with mounted shooting, the Desperados enjoy participating in area parades. We have won 1st place in the Cody Lighted Christmas Parade, and 1st place in the Park County Fair parade. We have performed demos at the Cody Night, Cowley and Clark Rodeos as well as the Boot and Bottle Horse Fair. We have had tables at gun shows and craft fairs. We have also been featured in several local papers and magazines. We are proud to help run the Park County 4-H horseshow and are extremely proud of our efforts to raise funds for several different charities through our Wild Wyoming Charity Jackpot events.
