More about Xi Kappa Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Bucknell- A sophomore student from Baltimore, MD named Alvin McCoy III began to inspire an interest around campus in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He, growing up in Baltimore, was very familiar with the ideals of the fraternity and the positive attributes of its members. He then proceeded to contact the administrators of the fraternity on the national and local levels. After nearly a year, McCoy, along with Michael G, MacKay, a freshman from Baltimore, MD, Robert E. Chambers, Jr., a sophomore from Baltimore, MD, and Norman Scott Gunn, a sophomore from Great Barrington, MA, had their hard work, determination, and persistence truly fulfilled on April 28, 1989, when the men collectively known as "Genesis" were initiated into the Mu Beta Expansion Colony of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Their initiation however was only the beginning.

Bucknell University received its third charter of a historically Black Greek-letter organization on September 22, 1991. The Mu Beta Expansion Colony became the Xi Kappa Chapter. On Febraury 22, 1992, the Brothers of the chapter led by chapter founder and current Polemarch, Michael MacKay received the charter from the Northeastern Province Polemarch, Herman B. Thomas, in Harrisburg, PA.

Since that date, the Xi Kappa chapter has continued to exist, thrive, and achieve at Bucknell University uninterrupted.
