Yarn Hero Fiber Arts

My handspun yarns are made from the finest fibers I can find. I try to support the local farmer as much as I can by buying fleeces from local farms and families. I wash, dye, and card the fibers into wonderful swirls or stripes of colors.

Doll makers love my yarns to create their dolly's magical heads of hair. Since my yarns are drum carded before spinning, each strand has more of a rounded shape with more substance. Once cut into pieces, they will hold their shape better and withstand the rough and tuff longer than the usual yarns spun from dyed roving. Plus, this allows me to introduce bits of colors, and best of all -- sparkle!

Knitters and crocheter also love my yarns for their softness, sparkle, and element of surprise as you watch one color turn into the next. Usually spun up bulky to super bulky, my yarns are a quick knit - always a bonus!

I have also started to offer natural and dyed Suri Alpaca locks and soon Teeswater and Leicester long locks for doll re-roots or tailspinning. Stay tuned!

Another new adventure of mine has been my little sheep plushies. Each is made with the finest 100% Merino wool, stuffed with clean carded wool, and has a removable needled felted coat. Neat! I can also make additional coats or handknit jackets to keep your sheep in fashion! :)
