More about Yayso Yoga

What is “Yaso Yoga?”

In Cantonese, “Yaso” means God. Yaso Yoga is a unification of oneself with their spirit. Yoga was created in India. Yaso Yoga founder David Gallaher studied a variety of yoga styles following his many travels throughout the world. David Gallaher is also a Grandmaster in martial arts at the Gung Fu Institute in Fort Myers.

“Yoga should be shared amongst everybody, not one denomination or cultural background.” –David Gallaher

Benefits of Yaso Yoga

The physical benefits of Yaso Yoga are abundant. From flexibility, improved digestion, and posture to muscle toning and balance, Yaso Yoga is fantastic for everybody. In addition, Yaso Yoga offers many mental benefits including the following: mental focus, stamina, pushing oneself beyond preconceived limits, self-confidence, and treatment of depression.

Who Should take Yaso Yoga?

Yaso Yoga is excellent for anybody seeking mental and physical wellness. All poses can be customized to each individual’s ability. Modifications will be offered in every class.

What Do I Need to Prepare for Class?

First and foremost, bring a good, loving attitude! Be sure to arrive to class prepared with a mat, practice rug/large towel, and a hand towel. Blocks and a strap are recommended for beginners. Come well hydrated and with an empty stomach and arrive to class about 10 minutes before starting time. All yoga gear can be purchased at the academy.

Can My Kids Take Yoga?

Yes! In fact, we offer kids yoga three nights per week from 4:30-5:15 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Kids Yoga is an age-appropriate class catered specifically for ages 9-16. The class is designed with kids in mind. Through my years of experience in teaching kids, I’ve come to the conclusion that kids need a different presentation of Yoga to make it fun and enjoyable and still receive all of the benefits of an adult Yoga class. In most aspects of Yoga, the desire for a child to learn falls on the instructor and not on the type of Yoga. At the Institute, Instructor David Gallaher brings over 27 years of experience in training kids.
