Ye Olde Antique Shoppe

We began our journey with a mission to buy, sell, trade and consign antiques as though we are neighbors and friends. Housed within our brick and mortar location is a hoard of treasures that would impress a museum curator. Although it's been suggested that we should charge for admission, our real passion is building relationships within our community. The aforementioned mission has progressed to a vision that is uncommonly far-reaching, necessary according to our customer voice, and charitable at its core.
We are not in the business of making money. We are relentless in our work to strategically transform our vision into an operational reality that is transparent to our community and that by which we are branded. Our plans include creating and sustaining local employment opportunities and significant contributions to the revitalization of the Des Moines Metropolitan south side community. Each member of our team has, at one point or another, carried the heavy words of the naysayer insisting we can't, we shouldn't, we’re too old, we’re too uneducated, we’re too inexperienced, or we have made too many mistakes in the past. This serves us now as resilience and we each have an unwavering need to know we are serving our more than we are being served. We have no secret source of income, no secret recipe, and no special magical powers. Simply put, we have fully embraced hard work, sacrifice, and an inspiring vision about what we want to do with the time that is given to us.
It is our heartfelt desire to share the opportunity provided by growth and development with those in our community who are bold enough to seek it. As a united front we can bring the arts, shopping, and entertainment back to this side of town, and we are intensely proud to make positive contributions. We ask only for support both by and for our community, and in particular for small businesses such as ours looking to reinvest success.
