YES House

The YES House program, located near the Oregon State University campus in Corvallis, is a large former fraternity. Boys sleep in a dorm on the fourth floor, while girls share rooms on the third floor. Spacious group rooms, dining facilities, and administrative offices occupy the main floor. The basement houses classrooms for the alternative school. A large private yard provides recreation space for basketball and volleyball.

YES House is a residential chemical dependency treatment center serving adolescents from Western Oregon. Twelve of the thirty-five beds are on a sliding fee scale and are primarily state funded. Adolescents must be referred by one of the local Outpatient Chemical Dependency Treatment Programs to be eligible for one of the "sliding fee beds." The remaining 23 beds are for private pay/insurance clients.

The typical length of stay at YES House is two weeks to several months. The length of stay may be shorter for those youth and their families who work extremely hard and achieve the competencies for successful transition quickly. When Intensive Outpatient Programs are available in the referring community, the transition planning begins at the time of intake. Length of stay is determined by the client's stabilization and progress as it relates to the ASAM criteria and clinical judgement. Longer stays occur when clients are virtually without supports, homeless, or when the damage accrued from the lifestyle is so great that extensive care is indicated.


YES House realizes that the chances for successful treatment with adolescents improves with the appropriate length of stay and parental and/or adult involvement. YES House encourages all families to participate in the YES House program, to not use alcohol, nicotine, or other drugs, and to attend family oriented chemical dependency treatment programs in their own community. Since YES House is a regional treatment center, continuing care programs are typically at the local community of the adolescent, although we host a weekly alumni group.


The treatment modalities included at YES House are 12 Step support groups and philosophy, relapse prevention, alternative education, family education and treatment, and participation in a level system based upon the establishment of goals and personal objectives.
