Youth Educational Services began in 1968 as a response to students' desire for active roles in initiating social change. YES provided opportunities for students to serve in programs where they took on management roles such as; decision-making, program development, volunteer supervision and evaluation.
The name YES emerged from HSU students who wanted to create a place on campus where the premise could be "YES we can." In the many years after its inception, successful community service programs and student accomplishments have proved that, YES, they could and, YES, they do!
