YMCA Childcare Resource Service (YMCA CRS) is committed to enhancing the quality of child care and supporting families in San Diego County.
Under the leadership of Jean Brunkow, YMCA CRS received funding from two contracts with the State Department of Education and operated out of one office. During that first year, CRS served 15,000 parents and children.
Under the current leadership of Debbie Macdonald, YMCA CRS operates out of five offices throughout San Diego County and receives funding from 22 major contracts with the State Department of Education, County of San Diego, and First 5 Commission, among other sources. YMCA CRS currently serves more than 67,000 parents and children annually with a budget of over $30 million.
YMCA Childcare Resource Service is a department of the YMCA of San Diego County. Throughout its history, the YMCA has been the leader in implementing a wide range of programs designed to improve the quality of life and promote the well-being of children, families, and those who care for them.
