York County Head Start-Preschool Learning Academy of York (P.L.A.Y.)

York County Head Start, also known as Preschool Learning Academy of York (P.L.A.Y.), provides educational services to 51 preschool children (ages 3-5) and 20 infants and toddlers (ages 0-3).

York County Head Start-P.L.A.Y. is a part of the Children Services Department of Blue Valley Community Action. For more information, or to complete an application for enrollment, please contact one of our Family Advocates at 402-362-4299.

Social media websites (such as Facebook) are used by Blue Valley Community Action (BVCA) Head Start to promote and share information about our program and services. All social media content is sponsored and maintained by the Children Services department of BVCA. The following guidelines have been established regarding the use of BVCA Head Start social media websites.

All viewpoints are welcome, but comments should remain relevant to Head Start and early childhood care and education.

We do not allow graphic, obscene, explicit, or racial comments, nor do we allow comments that are abusive, hateful, or intended to defame anyone or any organization.

We do not allow solicitations or advertisements. Apparent spam will be removed and may cause the author(s) to be blocked from the page without notice.

Spreading misleading or false information is prohibited. We do not allow comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity.

Do not use social media in case of emergency. To report criminal activity, please contact your local law enforcement agency. To report suspected child abuse or neglect, call the Abuse Hotline at 1-800-652-1999.

Users take personal responsibility for any comments, username, and other information provided. Please do not post personal information including your phone number, address, or social security number.

The appearance of comments or external links does not constitute official endorsement on behalf of Blue Valley Community Action, Children Services, or the Office of Head Start.

We recognize that the web is a 24/7 medium, and your comments are welcome at any time. However, given the need to manage federal resources, comment moderating will take place during regular business hours.

We reserve the right to determine which comments violate our comment guidelines, and to remove and/or not allow such comments to be posted.

As mandated by Nebraska State Law, BVCA Head Start shall not post any photographs or other identifying information pertaining to wards of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Parents will be asked to sign the Parent Permission Form, thereby giving BVCA Head Start permission to use children’s photos on social media sites. In the interest of safety, children’s names will not be used on social media sites.
