Youth and Family Programs was established in 1984. We work with children age infant to 21 years old who have been detained by Butte and Shasta County. We also offer Transitional Housing and the Independent Living Program for our youth in extended foster care.
There are over 58,000 children in the foster care system in California. Foster care provides a stable environment that assures a child's safety and well-being while their parents attempt to resolve the issues that lead to the out-of-home placement.
Anyone who is safe, stable, adult, married, or single with room in their hearts and home for children in need can become a foster parent. You must be willing to be responsible for the care of a foster child, be willing to become a part of our team, and be able to meet the Community Care Licensing requirements.
