Zena Farm Club

Situated in the beautiful Willamette Valley, Zena Farm (located in Salem, OR) is a multi-purpose farm run almost entirely by students from Willamette University. The farm is located on a 305 acre lot owned by the university in the Eola Hills complex. 300 acres are comprised of mixed forest, oak savanna, oak woodland and Douglas Fir plantation. The remaining 5 have been designated for agricultural purposes.

Established in the fall of 2009 with a small garden, Zena Farm now consists of a kitchen garden, two greenhouses, a half-acre of field crops, and six chickens. We grow and sell produce to the food service at Willamette, as well as the general campus population through a once-a-week farm stand in the late summer through fall.

In addition to selling produce, Zena Farm is the host of a series of agriculture-based workshops including fruit tree pruning, the wonders of beneficial insects, planting schedules, and beekeeping.

Our tentative crops for this year include tomatoes, squash, peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, beans, beets, potatoes, greens, basil and other herbs.
