Zion Hill #1 Baptist Church

Zion Hill #1 Baptist Church was organized in the year 1876 in Natchez, MS by the late Rev. George Lindo. Rev. Lindo pastored the church until his death.

Zion Hill Baptist Church was located on what was known as the Hill of Linwood Plantation. Due to a disagreement between the pastor and the plantation owner, the church, then under Rev. Drake, sought a new site. The new site was acquired from the second plantation owner and is the present site of Zion Hill #1 Baptist Church.

Today, Pastor Joe W. Pickett is pastor. This is his 30th year being pastor of ZHBC. His dedication and love for God has allowed ZHBC to grow and continue the delivery of the word of God.

Descendants of the founders and early organizers can still be found in Zion Hill #1 Baptist Church today!
