Zion Temple United Church of Christ

Zion Temple is a community-oriented church that is about developing a relationship with God and loving people, not doing things simply out of tradition. We strive to edify each other not only in the church, but also to have an impact on the greater Durham community.

Zion Temple is a predominantly black church, but as far as the worship service goes, there's no set style and the worship culture often varies from week to week. We sing a mixture of contemporary/urban and old school gospel music. People feel free to "come as they are," and to worship however they feel most comfortable. On any given Sunday you'll see attire varying from from jeans to suits and ties.

Our pastor, the Reverend Cheryl D. Moore, is an anointed woman of God and a dynamic preacher. She loves the Lord and is passionate about sharing the word he places on her heart each week.

Pastor Cheryl is a pastor and Zion Temple a body of believers that truly feels like family. If you've never experienced anything like that we encourage you to come visit. We hope to see you some time!
