Access To Advocacy, Kim Carvette, M.Ed.
What we do.
Collaborate between School Districts and Families to help all children with disabilities reach their Educational and Functional potential year after year ages 3 – 18.
Support parents and schools by knowing the interpretation of the special education laws that support the individual child on an IEP or 504 plan or the child who is in need of a plan.
Bridge communication by interpreting legal terms and timelines to include:
Appropriate Education (annual review, 3 year re-evaluations, crisis management)
IEP (individual education program)
FAPE (free and appropriate public education)
LRE (least restrictive environment)
Due Process (parental rights) to request evaluations, team meetings, mediation, and hearings
We help parents educate themselves for a long road of respectful communication with their home school system; keeping focus on the TEAM effort of education for their child's needs.
