Norwell Voice & Music Studio, established in 2002, specializes in lessons for Voice, Stage Performance, Songwriting, Guitar and Piano for all ages and levels of experience.

Les Sampou, owner and instructor at NVMS, has so much more to offer then your typical music instructor or local music store. Not only has studied with some of the best instructors in NYC and Boston (Berklee) and went on to teach privately for 13 years, but she is also a recording artist with six original albums, an award-winning international touring singer-songwriter-guitarist for 25 years, and a writer-producer of songs for Film and TV. She brings her over-flowing musical knowledge and skill to every lesson, whether is it in piano, guitar, songwriting or voice. In addition, she consults with musicians looking to build their music business skills: publicity, booking, performance.

Les Sampou customizes every lesson to each student’s abilities and goals that student and instructor set together. Not only does Les Sampou bring a world of musical experience to her students but she is exceptional at bringing out the confidence of the shy student while building his or her dreams in a realistic, supportive way.

VOICE:
Les Sampou teaches a methodology based on full tonal control, increased range, maximized vocal health, and freedom in performing. Breath Control and Breath Support, correct Placement, and Interpretation of Repertoire are a few of the techniques each student will master.

Professional singers who are facing challenges such as soreness, decreased range and power, and inability to consistently sing notes on pitch will learn to maximize vocal potential and improve overall performance, undo incorrect habits, and learn to sing with ease.

Beginner students will learn to sing the healthy way and learn basic techniques that will result in an expanded vocal range, tone production, and breathing efficiency. In addition, they can learn the "belt technique" of the popular singers of today as seen on The Voice.

GUITAR & PIANO
The Norwell Voice & Music Studio offers beginner guitar and piano. Ms. Sampou's lessons provide a basic understanding of the instrument as well as technical information (full reading of notation and chords) musical theory, and physical development in an accurate and progressive way that is also fun and enjoyable.

SONGWRITING:
Les teaches all levels of songwriting. Her course provides an excellent way for journal writers, poets and story tellers to put their ideas to music. Songwriters who want to excel at their craft and expand their repertoire stylistically will benefit from the tips and feedback Les provides. Playing an instrument is encouraged but not necessary if one wants to be a lyric writer who partners with a musician in order to complete a song.

STAGE PERFORMANCE
Les works with professionals and semi-professional musicians who are seeking reinforcement to bring them to the next level. Microphone technique, stage presence and pacing are a few of the components of this course. Children auditioning or starring in musicals can greatly benefit from taking lessons from Les; many of her students have starred in High School and Middle School productions over the years.

Les started the Norwell Voice & Music Studio in 2002. Since then, she has taught hundreds of singers, musicians, and writers with phenomenal results. Many of her students have gone on to start bands, star in musical theatres at school, and several have gone on to compete at national shows like American Idol.
