Beacons Beach

Our site is about the history of Beacon's Beach Located in Encinitas (Leucadia), North San Diego County plus we offer surfboards, videos, surf books, wet suits, boogie boards and surfing gear. We now have a surf cam (under repair), online tide guide and a time lapse pictorial sequence on the 2001 beach sand.

Beacon's Beach is located in North San Diego County, north of Del Mar, Solana Beach and Cardiff, south of Oceanside and Carlsbad, in Encinitas--or Leucadia as known to the locals far and near. It isn't an overly territorial place so you won't need burial insurance. But if you are planning on going to the beach, when the rocks are exposed, make sure you have a decent pair of surf shoes to make your trip more comfortable and enjoyable.

Because Beacon's is hard to find, and the winding path is a deterrent to many (especially those with kids) most of the beachgoers are native to the immediate area. You can see everything here, from surfer shorts to a revealing bikini to maternity swimwear. If you are not buff enough try a medicine ball workout.
