Training and technical assistance are critical components to helping clients both access financial products and services as well as become successful borrowers once they are able to obtain a loan. Providing appropriate, targeted training is important to building a pipeline of qualified borrowers as well as giving borrowers the tools they need to succeed financially once they obtain a loan. Building a solid foundation of financial literacy in the target market is the first step to preparing people to access credit. These classes will cover key topics such as budgeting, saving and understanding credit reports and how they impact financial health.
The course Building Wisdom & Wealth is being offered monthly and is a total of nine hours of class time. Attending this class is a requirement in order to receive a loan. When students successfully complete the course, they will be registered in a national database and sent a registration card identifying them as a graduate of this nationally recognized credit education course. Additionally, they will receive three cards addressed to the three major credit-reporting agencies that will allow them to add a positive statement to their credit report. Individualized credit coaching will be provided on a case by case basis and as requested to our clients.
We will also plan to provide a homebuyer education class teaching valuable information about the road to homeownership and understanding to the many complexities of purchasing a home and maintaining a home. We plan on partnering with community professionals in the areas of buying and selling a home, lending, insurance, home inspections and home maintenance to help provide specialized training. Various curriculums will be used for the class depending on the instructor. Attending this class is a requirement in order to receive either a down-payment, closing cost or mortgage loan.
