Cape Cops 5k

Cape Cops 5k is a kickoff to National Police Memorial Week. "National Police Week" was enacted October 1, 1962 in the Congress of the United Stated. The resolution authorized the President of the United States, then John F. Kennedy, to proclaim May 15th of each year as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls as Police Week.

Communities throughout the country take this week to acknowledge the commitment made by their local police offiers, and law enforcement agencies stop to remember those officers who have given the ultimate sacrificce of their lives in the line of duty.
