DIO Fest is a grassroots music, art & community festival that benefits Camp Krem and promotes a ‘do-it-ourselves approach’. Everyone involved, from artists to attendees to vendors to sponsors, partakes in fostering the positive community that DIO Fest creates and making the festival Epic! Let’s do it ourselves yo!

Our goal is to lead by example and spread the ‘do it ourselves approach’ far and wide as a sustainable model for hosting positive local festivals and events that give back to the community.

The ‘do it ourselves’ (DIO) approach means exactly what it sounds like. In a world where technology is leaving us more socially fragmented than ever, it’s crucial for us to make sure that our local and regional communities stay strong.

The DIO approach exists so that corporate mega-festivals don’t eventually rule the world. It exists to help us remember that the person on the stage is not so different from the person in the audience, or the local farmer that’s supplying the grinds. It serves to remind us that we can do great things when we come together.

DIO Fest is simply a seed. It was planted in 2013 with first ever DIO Fest. In 2014 it will grow more. In our wildest dreams, the DIO Approach will become contagious and people everywhere will be hosting their own DIO Fests, creating positive community in a crazy digital world.
