Lewis & Clark College is pleased to announce its selection by the U.S. Department of State, and its cooperative partner, World Learning, to host an EducationUSA Academy in summer 2016. Ten U.S. higher education institutions were selected as 2016 hosts. The EducationUSA Academy is a three-to-four-week academic program that will provide intensive English language courses, college preparatory content, tours of diverse college and university campuses, and cross-cultural activities to self-funded 15- to 17-year old students from around the world. Among the primary objectives of the Academy is to provide opportunities for international students to improve their English skills and become more familiar with the U.S. higher education system, academic culture, campus life, and admissions process. The Academy will create a pipeline to prepare international youth to pursue higher education in the United States by providing participants with the information, skills, and experience necessary to submit strong applications for admission to U.S. colleges and universities. Potential applicants can apply directly to Lewis & Clark College and applications will be accepted until June 1. More information on the program, including application procedures and fees, can be found at http://www.lclark.edu/programs/academic_english_studies/educationusa-academy/.
