This is the world where you’ll find the creative talents of Hammons & Associates. If you come, don’t show up looking for a cookie cutter office stuck in a concrete tower. What you get here is a vintage gas station and an old grocery store, melded together into a free-wheeling interactive space with people who love their jobs and know how to make yours noticeable and successful. You may have to weave around the Mississippi Blues Trail markers and step over the collected ephemera that follows folks who find value in almost every element of their world. But you’ll also find a tangible buzz, an energy and enthusiasm that grips a project, molds it into a mission and sends it sailing back out into the world with true traction.

BIG THINKING

The tone is set by founder Allan Hammons, a Greenwood native whose youthful exploits promised either success or notoriety from a very early age. In a Delta childhood reminiscent of some unlikely mix of Tom Sawyer, Norman Rockwell and Encyclopedia Brown, Allan found every aspect of his mid-century world just begging for mischief and exploration. Such energetic exploration leads one either to jail or to glory, and fortunately, Allan’s artistic talents and fertile mind were steered toward design and marketing at an early age. He began as an architectural illustrator and segued that into opening a full service ad agency. Through the decades since, even while herding a dedicated group of designers, writers and marketers to more success, Allan has maintained his wide-ranging fascination with everything from steam locomotives to jet plans and all things history related.

THE RESULTS

That unlikely mix of talents and interests is what makes H&A different today. Allan has kept that insatiable curiosity and satisfaction with fulfilling the loftiest dreams alive. As he regularly says, “There are only two answers, yes or no, so let’s ask big.” That mindset was valuable when working on projects such as the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center and GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi, where he turned requests for simple music exhibits into museums that are visited by people from all over the world.

That same way of thinking goes into every project we’re called in on, and it has led the way for a diverse portfolio of clients and projects–some as unusual as helping plan B.B. King’s funeral. We are invested in our clients because that’s our job, but more than that, because they become family.
