General Information Comment Policy:

The Idaho State Department of Education Facebook page is intended to serve as a conduit for information and a platform for dialog about Idaho’s public education system. While the Idaho State Department of Education encourages healthy and robust discussion and does not discriminate against any views, the Department will moderate comments/photos/links/etc., according to the following comment policy and reserves the right to do so at its sole discretion. Comments in violation of this comment policy will be removed.

• Comments that contain abusive, vulgar, offensive, sexual, racial, threatening, or harassing language; personal attacks of any kind; offensive or inappropriate terms that target specific individuals or groups; or unsupported accusations will be deleted.

• Comments regarding political elections violate Federal law and will be removed.

• Comments that are clearly off-topic or are used to promote products/services may be deleted.

• Comments or posts containing content that infringes on copyrights will be removed.

• Comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity will be removed.

• Links considered to be spam may be removed.

• Please refrain from posting media questions as comments on this page. Members of the media are encouraged to contact the SDE’s Communications Director, Melissa McGrath.

• Social media is available 24/7; our moderators are not. Please respond wisely to prohibited posts we may not have come upon yet, or email us at trluna@sde.idaho.gov or mrmcgrath@sde.idaho.gov to report abusive behavior.

• Remember that your posts are public. When posting, please do not include information (e.g., social security numbers) in the text of your comment that personally identifies you in a way you do not intend.

Communications made via the Facebook fan page will in no way constitute a legal or official notice or comment to the Idaho State Department of Education or any official or employee of the Idaho State Department of Education for any purpose.
